Hey bestie! So glad you're here! 💖 Have you noticed beauty and skincare influencers hyping up Therabody’s latest release, the Depuffing Wand? I swear, it feels like the ads have been popping up everywhere, especially now with Sephora’s Savings Event (which ends on 11/11). Just like with my TheraFace Mask, I got an email from Therabody back in September introducing their 2024 lineup, and the wand instantly caught my eye. A tool that gives both instant cooling and warming sensations for your skin, and is compact enough to fit in your bag? I mean, who wouldn't be curious?
My order arrived in early October, and as usual, I read the instructions carefully before diving in. According to Therabody’s guide, I was supposed to use the warm setting on clean, dry skin, then switch to the cool setting. So for the first week, I used it on bare skin before applying any serums or moisturizers—but it just wasn’t gliding smoothly, even when I tried a lighter touch. It felt like it was tugging, and that’s definitely not ideal. Then I saw on Therabody Beauty’s Instagram that others were using the Depuffing Wand with their serums, toners, and moisturizers—and wow, what a difference that made! It felt so much smoother, with the warm setting feeling incredibly relaxing and the cold setting delivering a super refreshing boost.
The wand's temperature changes instantaneously so you don't have to put your ice roller in the freezer and wait for it to reach a certain temperature. And it'll keep the desired temperature until the preset time is over or if the battery dies.
Here's a quick run down of the features based on Therabody's website:

Cold treatment feels great for depuffing
Well Mish Cons:
Best used with a serum or moisturizer (contrary to manual instructions)
The light indicator signals when to switch sides, which means you need to watch for it (vibration would’ve been easier)
Short battery life
Didn’t reduce my dark circles
The picture on the left shows my skin before using the Depuffing Wand, and the one on the right is after 12 minutes with the wand (six minutes on each heat and cold setting). There isn’t a noticeable difference in puffiness, but my skin did feel refreshed for the day.
Is it Well Mish Approved? Kind of.
If you love skincare gadgets and have the budget, it’s a fun addition to your routine. The cooling sensation is my favorite feature, but if you already own an ice roller, you might not need this. I’d honestly reach for my Medicube Booster Pro for its extra features and better absorption. Also, Therabody’s instructions say to use the heat setting on clean, dry skin, but it tugged without a serum or moisturizer. Their Instagram shows it being used with skincare, which made a big difference. A bit confusing!
TL;DR:
If you travel often and want a multipurpose skincare tool, this could be a great choice for you. But if you’re on the fence, save your money unless you’re already a big Therabody fan.
